Real experiences from real travelers
You absolutely cannot do Hakone without this pass. We saved so much money compared to buying individual tickets. The loop is fun, especially the pirate ship!
The pass itself is amazing value. Just be aware you have to go to the Odakyu center in Shinjuku to swap your voucher for the real ticket. Go early because the line gets long!
We used the 3-day pass. Seeing Mt Fuji covered in snow from the ropeway was the highlight of our Japan trip. The pass made hopping on and off buses very easy.
The pass works everywhere, which is great. But Hakone was packed. We had to wait 40 mins for the cable car. The pass is a must-have, just manage your expectations about crowds.
Took my parents from Tokyo. The round trip fare inclusion makes it very simple. We upgraded to the Romancecar for the view, totally worth the extra fee.
Calculated we saved about 2500 yen each by using the pass versus paying as we go. Plus no fumbling for coins on the bus.
The transport system in Hakone is complex, but this pass unifies it all. Flash the pass and go. Loved the Open Air Museum discount too.
The ropeway and lake cruise were stunning. The pass is convenient. Just wish it included the Romancecar seat fee automatically.
